Job Description

Marathon Staffing is seeking a reliable and hardworking Cemetery Grounds Supervisor to join their team in Hixon, TX. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing overall grounds and maintenance services to ensure a respectful and well-manicured burial environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in performing openings and closings for burials, entombments, and inurnments
  • Operate a mower, weed eater, and blower to maintain the grounds
  • Set, install, and assemble foundations, memorials, and markers
  • Handle and complete work orders from client families regarding individual grave and marker maintenance
  • Respond to and complete requests for service/work orders
  • Conduct 25-foot radius preparation for burials and ensure the area is clean and neat
  • Fill grave, tamp, seed, or sod
  • Adhere to all Company safety rules and Universal Precautions
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by management
Requirements:
  • MUST have heavy equipment experience
  • Acceptable driving record and applicable license(s) to operate equipment/vehicles
  • High School degree or equivalent
  • Minimum of six (6) months experience operating standard equipment
  • Ability to operate hand-held tools and equipment, including a shovel, pick, rake, sledgehammer, lawn mower, weed trimmer, leaf blower, chain saw, and pump
  • Ability to operate mechanical equipment
  • Ability to accurately use measuring devices
  • Ability to communicate effectively with fellow associates, contractor personnel, and client families
  • Ability to lift heavy objects up to 50 lbs.
  • Pre-employment drug test and background required (testing does not include THC)
Work Conditions:

Work indoors or outdoors during all seasons and weather conditions

Work Hours:

40+ hours a week - normally 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, unless otherwise discussed. Saturdays and Sundays may be requested or required

Pay $20.00 per hour, depending on experience and ability to drive a backhoe. May increase upon full-time hire. Agency benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, and Life and disability are available immediately
