Key Responsibilities:
- Manage patient schedules and ensure smooth patient flow. Assist patients in transitioning to examination rooms and provide necessary support during their visit.
- Gather patient medical history and vital signs, performing screenings as per provider guidelines, and communicate important information to patients and their families.
- Handle patient medical records in compliance with HIPAA and other regulatory standards.
- Prepare examination rooms and medical equipment, ensuring cleanliness and adherence to infection control protocols.
- Maintain inventory of medical supplies and restock as necessary.
- Adhere to regulations set by agencies such as OSHA and CLIA, ensuring confidentiality of medical records.
- Perform basic clinical procedures, including phlebotomy and EKGs, and assist healthcare providers during examinations.
- Respond to phone inquiries and provide relevant patient education as directed.
- Coordinate with laboratories and other medical facilities to obtain necessary reports and documentation.
- Assist in scheduling appointments and verifying patient insurance information.
Qualifications:
A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Candidates should possess basic computer skills and familiarity with medical terminology.
Certifications and Clearances:
- Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification.
- Compliance with child abuse reporting and background check requirements.
