Job Summary:

The Accountant will work under general supervision of the Controller to prepare financial statements, process financial transactions, and provide overall general accounting support.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Performs general cost accounting and other related duties in the accounting department.
  • Codes invoices, sets up new accounts, reconciles accounts, and closes the monthly books.
  • Reconciles bank accounts at least monthly, verifies deposits, and addresses inquiries from banks.
  • Reconciles customer accounts and manages accounts receivable collections.
  • Verifies payment of invoices associated with accounts payable and ensures payments are charged to the appropriate accounts.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Abilities:
  • Knowledge of general financial accounting and job cost accounting required.
  • Highly proficient with accounting software required.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software required.
  • Experience with Sage accounting software preferred.
  • Experience in Construction field preferred.
Education and Experience:
  • Associates degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline required.
  • Three to five years of accounting experience required.
Physical Requirements:

Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
