Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly qualified Staff Psychologist to join our team at the VETERANS HEALTH ADMINISTRATION. As a Staff Psychologist, you will provide mental health services to veterans and their families, including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of mental health conditions. You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care to our patients.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide mental health services to veterans and their families, including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of mental health conditions
  • Conduct psychological or neuropsychological assessments to identify mental health conditions
  • Develop and implement treatment plans to address mental health conditions
  • Provide individual and group interventions to support patients coping with feelings of grief and loss
  • Provide psycho-educational and supportive interventions to patients and their families
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care to patients
  • Provide clinical supervision to students, interns, and residents
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to improve patient care

Requirements:

  • Doctoral degree in psychology from a graduate program in psychology accredited by the American Psychological Association (APA)
  • Licensure as a psychologist in a State, Territory or Commonwealth of the United States, or the District of Columbia
  • Experience providing individual psychotherapy for a wide array of diagnoses
  • Experience as a therapist in the VA
  • Experience providing psychological interventions in PCMHI or similar primary care settings
  • Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Full independent licensure as a Clinical Psychologist
  • Experience providing psychological services to veterans and their families
  • Experience working in a primary care setting
  • Knowledge of clinical research literature
  • Ability to provide clinical supervision to students, interns, and residents
