Key Responsibilities


The primary objective of the Cardiac Telemetry Specialist role is to support the execution of clinical and technical tasks that enhance the care of monitored telemetry patients in the Neonatal and Pediatric Intensive Care settings (ages from birth to two years) under the guidance of a Registered Nurse.

This position involves assisting medical and nursing personnel with the ongoing observation of the patient's ECG, oxygen saturation levels, and other vital signs, while ensuring the proper functioning of monitoring devices.

It is essential to initiate tracing in response to any alterations in patient rhythm and promptly notify nursing staff. The specialist is responsible for maintaining and monitoring rate limits, discerning whether any irregularities stem from patient rhythm changes or equipment issues.

Under direct supervision and in accordance with established protocols, the role also includes a variety of clerical and administrative tasks for the designated Patient Care Services unit.

The specialist will utilize an online computer system to enter, retrieve, and amend patient information.

Required Qualifications

A High School Diploma or equivalent is mandatory.

Experience in healthcare, specifically with electrocardiograph equipment, ranging from three to six months, or completion of a relevant training program is required.

Previous experience in interpreting EKG strips is preferred. BLS Certification is necessary.
