Position Overview:

An Environmental Services Specialist is essential in ensuring that every patient, visitor, and staff member experiences a clean, safe, and sanitized environment conducive to healing and exceptional care.

This role involves planning daily tasks with necessary supplies, managing time effectively, prioritizing urgent cleaning needs, and adjusting work pace according to the hospital's requirements.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting thorough cleaning of patient rooms upon discharge to maintain an aseptic environment that complies with established cleaning standards.
  • Performing routine cleaning and sanitation of various areas including patient rooms, administrative offices, public spaces, and clinical environments.
  • Meeting or exceeding the hospital's cleaning standards as specified in departmental policies.
  • Building collaborative relationships with colleagues, leadership, and patients through professional communication.
  • Reporting cleaning needs to clinical/support staff and other team members as necessary.
  • Engaging in continuous physical activity throughout the shift.
  • Completing additional tasks as assigned based on hospital and patient needs.

Experience Requirements:
A minimum of one year of experience in a customer service-oriented role is required.

Education Requirements:
A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.

Special Skills:
Demonstrates excellent customer service skills with a positive and helpful demeanor. Ability to work effectively in a team setting. Strong communication skills to interact professionally with others. Capable of meeting cleaning expectations in a dynamic work environment. Adaptability to changing daily requirements based on hospital needs. Exhibits initiative in critical thinking and problem-solving.

Proficient in using technology to perform essential job functions.
