New York, New York, United States Susquehanna International Group Full time
Position Overview

We are seeking skilled researchers eager to advance their careers in the domain of quantitative finance. The challenges we tackle at Susquehanna International Group often diverge from traditional academic problems, yet they require the intellect of individuals with exceptional attention to detail and an unwavering quest for knowledge.

The typical progression of a quantitative project initiates with a concept:
  • This concept may originate from anyone: yourself, a mentor, or a colleague encountered during a break.
  • As a Quantitative Researcher, you will delve into this concept by analyzing market data, utilizing mathematical, statistical, and programming tools.
  • Your research may unveil a novel pattern that can evolve into a trading signal.
  • You will collaborate closely with technology experts to backtest your findings and implement that trading signal into operational use.
  • Once the signal is integrated into our electronic trading strategies, you will continue to research that strategy to enhance its effectiveness.
  • As your trading strategy develops, you will engage with fellow researchers, strategists, and traders to gather insights and brainstorm innovative ideas.
  • Some of these ideas will lead to new quantitative projects, restarting the cycle.
We offer a thorough orientation program designed to bridge the gap between academic knowledge and industry practices. Educational topics encompass an introduction to options pricing, exposure to proprietary datasets, and opportunities to refine data analysis techniques. Beyond orientation, our trading floor serves as an endless source of dialogue for learning and professional growth.

Candidate Requirements
  • Master's degree in a quantitative discipline such as Mathematics, Physics, Statistics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Operations Research, or Economics
  • Outstanding mathematical problem-solving abilities
  • Effective communication skills in a dynamic and collaborative environment are crucial
  • Robust practical computing skills; proficiency in a specific programming language is less critical than your capability to efficiently and reliably execute tasks with computers
  • Experience in conducting comprehensive research projects
  • Background in finance is not a prerequisite
By applying for this position, you will also be considered for the Quantitative Systematic Trader role without needing to submit separate applications.

Visa sponsorship is available for this position.

The annual base salary range for this role is $200,000 - $225,000 plus discretionary bonuses and benefits. Susquehanna International Group evaluates factors such as the scope and responsibilities of the position, work experience, education/training, key skills, and market and organizational considerations when extending an offer.

Susquehanna International Group does not accept unsolicited resumes from recruiters or search firms. Any resume or referral submitted without a signed agreement will become the property of Susquehanna International Group, and no fee will be paid.
