Endoscopy Nurse

Mercy Hospital Ardmore is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our Endoscopy team as a Gastrointestinal (GI) Day Nurse. This rewarding role involves providing exceptional patient care in a fast-paced environment. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for utilizing the nursing process to deliver high-quality care to patients undergoing endoscopic procedures.
About the Role:
As an RN in our Endoscopy department, you will work closely with other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care and ensure seamless transitions throughout their stay. Your expertise and professionalism will play a crucial role in maintaining a positive and supportive environment for patients and families.
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care during endoscopic procedures, adhering to established standards and protocols
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans
- Monitor patient vital signs, assessing changes and reporting concerns to physicians or other healthcare professionals
- Maintain accurate records of patient data, including medication administration and treatment outcomes
- Participate in ongoing education and training to enhance knowledge and skills in areas such as wound care, infection control, and emergency response
Requirements:
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing (Associate's Degree, Diploma, or BSN)
- Current RN licensure within the state of employment, with compact licensure accepted if applicable
- Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association, obtained within 30 days of hire
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly, with prolonged standing and walking required for this position
