We are seeking a skilled Medical Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team as a travel nurse. As a MedSurg RN, you will have the opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment, providing high-quality patient care and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct thorough patient assessments and prioritize data collection based on patients' immediate conditions or needs.
- Perform ongoing assessments and implement appropriate treatments as ordered by a physician.
- Document patient findings and provide education and support to patients' families.
- Provide bedside care for a variety of patients, including pre- and post-op patients.
- Prepare, administer, and record prescribed medication, reporting any adverse reactions to treatment.
- Change dressings, insert catheters, and start IVs.
- Prepare equipment and assist physicians during examination and treatment of patients.
- Educate patients on surgical procedures.
- Participate in discharge planning and initiate patient education plans as prescribed by physicians.
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN)
- Current RN licensure in the United States
- 2 years of recent acute care experience as a Medical Surgical RN
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Additional certifications may be required before beginning an assignment
As a Medical Surgical Travel Nurse, you will work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, treating patients who may be confused, agitated, and/or uncooperative. You will be required to stand and walk for long periods of time, as well as bend, lean, and stoop without difficulty. You should be able to easily lift 20 pounds, and moving or lifting of patients may require lifting of up to 50 pounds at times.
