About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and customer-focused Sushi Clerk to join our team at Hy-Vee. As a Sushi Clerk, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, preparing and serving sushi dishes, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment.

• Customer Service: Provide prompt, efficient, and friendly customer service by greeting customers, answering questions, and resolving issues in a professional and courteous manner.
• Sushi Preparation: Prepare and serve sushi dishes, including cutting, slicing, and arranging ingredients, as well as cooking and assembling dishes.
• Food Safety and Handling: Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to food safety and handling procedures to ensure the quality and safety of our products.
• Inventory Management: Assist with inventory management, including ordering and receiving products, and maintaining accurate records of inventory levels.
• Teamwork: Work collaboratively with other team members to achieve sales goals, maintain a positive work environment, and provide exceptional customer service.

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience: Six months or more of similar or related experience in the food service industry.
• Skills: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, provide exceptional customer service, and maintain a clean and organized work environment.

This position is continually exposed to raw fish, flour, dust, noise, and temperature extremes. There is occasional exposure to cleaning chemicals/solvents. This is a fast-paced work environment with significant pressure.
