Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit Registered Nurse

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit team at Aspirus Wausau Hospital. This is a 13-week contract opportunity with a guaranteed 36 hours per week.
Responsibilities- Provide high-quality patient care in a fast-paced cardiovascular ICU environment.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Manage and prioritize patient care tasks, ensuring timely completion and effective communication with team members.
- Participate in unit-specific education and training programs to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in cardiac care, with skills in Swans, IABP's, and post-op hearts.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
This is a 12-hour day shift position, with occasional float requirements to other critical care and acute care clusters. On-call and weekend/holiday requirements are also part of this role.
Unit InformationThe Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit at Aspirus Wausau Hospital is a 12-bed unit providing care for post-op hearts, AMI, cardiogenic shock, induced hypothermia, and basic CICU patients. The patient ratio is 2:1 for CRRT and 1:1 for Impella.
