Job Responsibilities:

The Software Engineer III is responsible for the design, development, maintenance, enhancement, and documentation of software systems. Depending on the complexity of the systems and the engineer's expertise, the role may involve:
  • Collaborating with team members under supervision to develop or maintain straightforward systems.
  • Taking on independent responsibilities or leading technical initiatives, including system architecture development and requirement definition.
  • Resolving intricate technical challenges and researching innovative solutions.
  • Overseeing software activities for extensive programs.

Key Skills:
  • Analyze system requirements to derive software functional and performance specifications.
  • Assist in creating software designs based on requirements or specifications.
  • Develop software that fulfills performance and functional criteria.
  • Contribute to the creation and execution of integration testing procedures for software components.
  • Ensure software quality through various tools and processes (e.g., static code analysis, code coverage, peer programming).
  • Contribute to comprehensive project documentation.
  • Implement software development methodologies (e.g., Agile, Spiral, Extreme).

Qualifications:
This position requires an active Security Clearance and Polygraph. A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related field is required, along with six (6) years of experience as a software engineer. Alternatively, a Master's Degree in Computer Science or a related field with four (4) years of experience is acceptable, or a High School Diploma (or GED) with ten (10) years of software engineering experience.
