Position Overview:

As a Systems Engineer Intermediate at General Dynamics Information Technology, you will play a pivotal role in transforming technology into opportunities. Your expertise will contribute to enhancing critical systems that support various agencies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct high-level systems analysis, evaluation, design, integration, documentation, and implementation of complex applications.
  • Oversee all phases of system development, focusing on planning, analysis, evaluation, integration, testing, and acceptance.
  • Utilize advanced technical principles to solve intricate technical challenges and deliver automated engineering solutions.
  • Prepare and present briefings as required, potentially serving as Task Leader to ensure quality and service delivery.
  • Analyze customer requirements and develop tailored specifications based on operational documents and network architectures.
  • Manage multiple projects from design through implementation while guiding users in formulating requirements and conducting feasibility studies.
  • Communicate technical information effectively to both technical team members and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of best practices to provide optimal solutions and safeguard government systems.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive network architecture and design documentation to enhance system performance.
  • Engage with government representatives regarding technical considerations and associated challenges.
  • Ensure the technical integrity of deliverables within the Network Engineering domain.
  • Collaborate with program personnel and senior executives to facilitate effective communication.
  • Evaluate network performance, identify issues, and propose solutions to ensure operational efficiency.
  • Lead systems engineering activities within projects, defining all aspects of network development from mission analysis to performance verification.
  • Ensure contract capabilities are delivered efficiently using industry standards and established processes.

Qualifications for Success:

  • Education: Associate's Degree with 7 years of experience, or Bachelor's Degree with 5 years of experience.
  • Required Skillset:
    • Ability to manage large-scale, integrated projects while mitigating risks and controlling costs.
    • Review and approve system engineering documentation to ensure accuracy and completeness.
    • Establish formal procedures for coordinating system integration activities across multiple teams.
    • Document interface designs in a common format and maintain accessible repositories for interface data.
  • Clearance Level: TS/SCI
  • Required Certifications:
    • DoD M IAT Level II/8140 Computing Environment Certification.
    • IAT II 8570/8140 Baseline Certification Security+ or equivalent.
    • Computing Environment: MCSA Server 2016 (must obtain full certification within 180 days).
    • Desired certifications: MCSA 2016/2019/Azure, Linux+, VCP-DCV, etc.
  • Additional Requirements: Candidates must be willing to obtain a CI Polygraph for certain positions.
