Additionally, you will be responsible for inventory management, including ordering and receiving medications and supplies, completing cycle counts and inventory audits, and ensuring medication security and accountability. You will also be expected to provide technical expertise to others and demonstrate self-motivation, oral communication, and innovative thinking skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Accurately and efficiently prepare and distribute medications, including sterile products and high-risk medications
• Demonstrate technical proficiency in specialized areas of expertise, including hazardous and high-risk sterile compounding, inventory management, and controlled substance vault operations
• Maintain a high level of proficiency in two or more specialized areas of expertise, meeting accuracy and productivity standards
• Manage inventory, including ordering and receiving medications and supplies, completing cycle counts and inventory audits, and ensuring medication security and accountability
• Provide technical expertise to others and demonstrate self-motivation, oral communication, and innovative thinking skills

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Current Pharmacy Technician Registration with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy (TSBP)
• Preferred: Certificate from an accredited Pharmacy Technician training program or 2 years of college credit, Current Certification with the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB), and Current Intravenous Medication Certification (IV-Sterile Products) approved by the Accreditation Counsel for Pharmacy Education (ACPE)
• Two years pharmacy technician experience in a hospital, infusion center, or retail pharmacy
• Preferred: Experience in hazardous sterile compounding, high risk sterile compounding, nonsterile compounding, inventory management, and Pharmacy employee training
