The Patient Services Representative plays a crucial role in ensuring the efficient administrative flow of patients, facilitating their entry and exit, and guaranteeing that all necessary information is collected for follow-up and successful payment processing from third parties or program adjustments. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Efficiently check in patients (in-person or via Curbside Check-In) with a friendly demeanor.
- Verify and update patient demographic and insurance information in the electronic medical record system.
- Facilitate patient processing by assisting with form completion and keeping relevant staff informed about scheduling and patient details.
- Collect and accurately post all fees, payments, and co-payments from patients, reconciling daily charges.
- Assist uninsured patients in completing necessary applications for financial assistance and direct them to Enrollment Specialists when required.
- Support patients in scheduling follow-up appointments or modifying existing appointments as needed.
- Assist patients with laboratory orders, including signing them in for lab work and verifying insurance coverage.
- Exhibit exceptional professional telephone management skills.
- Provide assistance to patients with disabilities as trained.
- Safeguard patient confidentiality rights, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or GED.
- At least one year of experience in customer service.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
