About the Role:

We are seeking a dynamic and passionate ICT Special Education Teacher to join our team at Northside Charter High School in Brooklyn, NY. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual who is committed to providing high-quality education and creating an inclusive learning environment for students with special needs.

Key Responsibilities and Requirements:

  • Develop and implement engaging and challenging lessons in accordance with the Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and the school's curriculum.
  • Foster an inclusive and supportive learning environment for students with diverse needs.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers to adapt and modify instructional materials for students with special needs.
  • Employ various assessment strategies to gauge student progress and adapt teaching methods accordingly.
  • Collaborate proactively with colleagues to enhance and develop instructional practices within the special education department.
  • Provide timely and constructive feedback to students, supporting their academic and social-emotional development.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education or a related field.
  • State certification in Special Education.
  • Proficient knowledge of inclusive teaching strategies and the ability to differentiate instruction for students with diverse needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and students.

Salary: $70,000 - $90,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications.
