Aircraft Interior Installation Technician Senior

Job Summary:
The Aircraft Interior Installation Technician Senior is responsible for the removal, installation, and/or fabrication of aircraft interiors, including items such as trim, carpet, soundproofing, light structure, cabinetry, panels, and other accessories. This role requires a high level of technical expertise and attention to detail to ensure that all work is completed to the highest standards and meets customer expectations.
Key Responsibilities:- Removal and Installation: Safely perform aircraft interior removal and installation, including galleys, closets, lavatories, side ledges, bulkheads, doors, and panels.
- Quality Control: Coordinate with supervision and inspection to ensure compliance with Repair Station procedures, internal and FAA paperwork, sign-offs, and quality specifications.
- Mentorship: Mentor and train other Interior Installation Technicians, reviewing their work prior to sign-off to ensure it meets quality control standards.
- Lead Responsibilities: Accept lead responsibilities as required, overseeing projects or other technicians and assessing requirements of assigned tasks to procure required materials and documentation.
- Material Tracking: Utilize the material tracking system to create parts demand, track squawks, and sign-off work.
- Tool and Equipment Maintenance: Follow standard operating procedures when using tools and equipment, properly caring for and maintaining shop equipment and tools.
- Aircraft Interior Preparation: Prepare and install aircraft interior items in accordance with company operation procedures and quality standards.
- Fastener Installation: Remove and re-install nut plates, inserts, and other fasteners used in aircraft interiors, applying proper use of hardware and fittings on aircraft installations.
- Safety and Housekeeping: Comply with safety, 5S, and housekeeping policies, using personal protective equipment as required, and addressing unsafe conditions before putting people or property at risk.
- Additional Responsibilities: Assist technicians with aircraft maintenance requirements, adapt to sudden schedule changes, and coordinate projects with other shops/departments as required.
- Fluent in English: Must be fluent in the English language, with the ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
- Blueprint Reading: Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering documentation.
- Tool and Equipment Operation: Ability to use hand/power tools and equipment associated with installation and removal of interiors.
- Physical Demands: Able to climb ladders and stairs, work in small restricted areas, lift up to 40 pounds, and work any shift.
- Computer Literacy: Must be computer literate.
- Excellent Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Advanced Knowledge: Advanced knowledge of aircraft installation and/or fabrication processes applicable to the specific position, such as removal and installation of galleys, closets, lavatories, side ledges, bulkheads, doors, panels; working with composite panels made from Nomex honeycomb, fiberglass, Lexan, acrylic materials, etc.
