About the Role

Job Summary

The Logistics Coordinator - Import Specialist will be responsible for coordinating and managing import transportation operations, ensuring seamless logistics processes, and providing exceptional customer service. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and effective communication abilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Instruct agent offices on handling Mohawk shipments, ensuring compliance with regulations and company policies.
  • Bulk shipments according to customer requirements, taking into account factors such as cost, transit time, and reliability.
  • Oversee complex transportation moves, including air consolidations, chassis pools, and foreign-to-foreign shipments, to ensure efficient and timely delivery.
  • Select the most reliable and cost-effective service options to meet customers' needs, considering factors like carrier performance, transit times, and freight costs.
  • Monitor and track shipments through the CargoWise freight management system, identifying potential issues and resolving them promptly.
  • Arrange clearance and delivery to customer facilities, ensuring all necessary documentation is completed accurately and on time.
  • Take proactive measures to prevent delays or problems, communicating effectively with customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Prepare reports and advise clients on shipment status, keeping them informed throughout the logistics process.
  • Issue quotes to clients, taking into account their specific requirements and preferences.
  • Rates files in accordance with client rates, ensuring accuracy and transparency in billing.
  • Audit P&L statements and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner, maintaining high levels of financial integrity.
  • Finalize files with billing charges, complete billing invoices, and ensure accurate payment processing.
Requirements
  • Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in International Trade, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field (desired).
  • Solid knowledge of international transportation (air & ocean) and U.S. Customs & Border Protection regulations (preferred).
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in software applications like CargoWise.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with customers, carriers, and internal stakeholders.
  • Minimum 2 years of import/transportation experience (desired).
What We Offer

Mohawk Global Logistics is an equal opportunity employer. We offer a competitive salary range of $65,000 - $85,000 per year, depending on experience, plus benefits and opportunities for career growth and development.
