Job Title: Skip Tracer

About the Role:

Pafford Medical Services is seeking a skilled Skip Tracer to join our team. As a Skip Tracer, you will be responsible for conducting thorough investigations to locate individuals with unpaid ambulance service bills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct investigations to locate individuals with unpaid bills
  • Utilize various resources to gather information, including public records, databases, and proprietary tools
  • Verify and update contact information in our database
  • Communicate effectively with individuals, guarantors, and third-party entities to negotiate payment plans or settlements
  • Prepare detailed reports on skip tracing activities and outcomes
  • Collaborate with the billing department to prioritize accounts and develop strategies for debt recovery
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to legal and regulatory requirements regarding debt collection
  • Stay updated with industry best practices and tools for skip tracing

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a skip tracer, debt collector, or in a similar investigative role
  • Proficient in using skip tracing tools, databases, and social media platforms
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion
  • Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations regarding debt collection
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum of one year revenue cycle management experience

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards
  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards
  • The employee may occasionally be required to lift and/or move up to 20 pounds
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
