Recovery Coach Job Description

About the Role:

The Recovery Coach is a vital member of our team at Voices of Hope Lexington Inc, supporting individuals in their recovery journey from substance use disorder. As a Recovery Coach, you will serve as a role model, mentor, and advocate, helping individuals prevent relapse and achieve long-term recovery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive recovery education to participants, covering every phase of the recovery journey.
  • Work one-on-one with individuals to identify their strengths, barriers, and goals, and develop personalized recovery plans.
  • Promote self-advocacy and empower individuals to have their voices heard, with their needs and goals established as the focal point of rehabilitation services.
  • Link and retain participants using Medication for Opioid Use Disorder (MOUD) as a recovery pathway, leveraging community resources and support services.
  • Monitor participant progress, even after discharge from partner agencies, to prevent treatment interruption and ensure continuity of services.
  • Maintain accurate project logs, reports, and records to meet funding reporting requirements.
  • Ensure confidentiality of participant information and maintain positive relationships with community groups, partner agencies, and funders.
  • Participate in group meetings, trainings, and advisory groups to develop programs and improve recovery services.
  • Lead mutual aid meetings and suggest procedural and policy changes to enhance operational efficiency and opportunities for diverse populations.

Qualifications:

  • Experience with the addiction recovery process and knowledge of opioid use disorder and medications for opioid use disorder.
  • Ability to work with diverse populations, uphold cultural humility principles, and record data and complete documentation within established guidelines.
  • Familiarity with support services, resources, and diverse recovery populations, as well as demonstrated skills in active listening, motivational interviewing, and leading by example.
  • Understanding and appreciation for diverse cultures and maintaining an inclusive approach to recovery.

Requirements:

  • Must be 18 or older.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and database use.
  • Completion of Kentucky Certified Peer Support Specialist and Recovery Coach Fundamentals training.
  • Ability to complete I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification and background check.

Work Environment:

Typically Monday through Friday, day-shift, with reliable transportation required.

Compensation:

$17 hourly wage.
