We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Dental Hygienist to join our team at Boston University's School of Dental Medicine. As a key member of our clinical affairs team, you will play a vital role in promoting optimal oral health for our patients.
Key Responsibilities- Collect and review patient medical history, identifying contraindications and requesting medical clearance as necessary
- Perform oral cancer screenings and periodontal assessments, charting dental findings
- Maintain a sterile environment in the operatory, inspecting instruments for sterility and practicing universal precautions
- Provide clinical services, including exposing radiographs, performing dental cleanings, scaling and root planning with local anesthesia, and dispensing fluoride and therapeutic agents
- Deliver patient education, reviewing home care and oral hygiene instructions, and reviewing treatment plans with patients
- Assist the front desk with confirmation calls, sending reminder cards, ordering hygiene supplies, and filling open appointments due to cancellations
Vocational/Associate's Degree Required, Bachelor's Degree Preferred, and 1-3 years of work experience
