Job Summary

The Multimodal Imaging Specialist, under general supervision of a Radiologist, performs imaging procedures in two or more disciplines, with a 50% focus in an advanced discipline such as CT, MR, Nuc Med or IR, on ambulatory and hospital patients as requested by a physician or other licensed provider for the diagnosis of disease and injury in accordance with established protocols.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform High-Quality Imaging Procedures: Conduct imaging procedures in two or more disciplines, with a 50% focus in an advanced discipline, to diagnose disease and injury in accordance with established protocols.
  • Maintain Quality and Production Standards: Maintain high-quality imaging procedures, adhering to established standards and procedures, to ensure accurate diagnoses and patient safety.
  • Communicate Effectively: Utilize AIDET when communicating with patients to identify service requirements, ensure correct exams are performed, and establish rapport with patients and others.
  • Prepare Patients and Equipment: Prepare patients and equipment for procedures by positioning patients, adjusting immobilization devices, moving equipment into specified positions, and adjusting equipment controls to set exposure factors.
  • Protect Patients and Employees: Protect patients and employees by adhering to safety requirements, infection-control, drug, and radiation policies, protocols, and techniques.
  • Maintain Equipment and Work Area: Maintain equipment and work areas to meet quality and cleanliness standards, ensuring optimal operational capabilities of equipment.
  • Ensure Patient Safety: Ensure people are safe to enter the department by screening them according to approved policies and procedures.
  • Document Patient Information: Obtain, verify, and maintain all relevant documentation, such as requisition/chart, patient history, pregnancy status, and shielding precautions taken.
  • Maintain Medical Imaging Records: Maintain medical imaging records in appropriate systems and according to department policies and standards for interpretation in a timely manner.
Requirements
  • Education: Grad of an Accredited Program
  • Experience: Less than 1 Year of Experience
  • Certification/License/Registration: Basic Life Support (BLS), Medical Radiologic Tech (MRT), and various certifications in imaging modalities.
