Job Responsibilities:

Sanitation and Maintenance:

  • Ensure the Store's cleanliness and safety with urgency, covering areas such as floors, windows, break rooms, and restrooms.
  • Maintain supplies at department hand wash stations, including paper towels, soap, and sanitizer.
  • Remove trash and debris from the Store's exterior and surrounding areas.
  • Utilize H-E-B's chemical program and manage stock in the maintenance area efficiently.
  • Empty and clean trash receptacles throughout the Store and its departments.
  • Adhere to food safety and sanitation standards by following established procedures.
  • Communicate maintenance requirements and issues to Store Leaders.

Customer Engagement:

  • Interact with customers and address their needs.
  • Assist customers in locating products.
  • Perform Customer Service Assistant duties as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum age of 18 (required).
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of Company Orientation, Instore orientation, Basics of Safety, Annual Food Handler, and basic HAZMAT/Chemical Safety certifications upon hire.

  • Familiarity with OSHA Guidelines.
  • Skills in sacking and organization.
  • Ability to take initiative and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Customer service-oriented mindset.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to walk, reach, grasp, push/pull with arms consistently.
  • Frequent bending and occasional sitting, standing, and reaching in various positions.
  • Capability to lift 50 lbs and manage heavier items when necessary.
  • Willingness to work in varying conditions, including cold temperatures and noise.

Note:
It is essential for Partners to lift within their safe limits. If an item is too heavy, it should be broken down into manageable parts or assistance should be sought from a colleague or manager.
