We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Healthcare Registration Specialist to join our team at Southern Tennessee Regional Health System - Lawrenceburg. This is a Per Diem/PRN opportunity with a rotating schedule that includes weekends and various shifts.

About the Role:

As a Registration Specialist, you will be responsible for performing receptionist, registration, and clerical duties associated with direct and scheduled patient admissions. This includes ensuring that all necessary demographic, billing, and clinical information is obtained and entered in the registration system with timeliness and accuracy. You will also distribute and explain forms, documents, and educational handouts to patients or family members, and meet with patients or their caregivers to exchange necessary information and documentation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Registration and Admissions: Verify patient demographics, insurance, and financial information, and obtain necessary signatures and consents.
  • Communication and Patient Education: Explain hospital policies, procedures, and payment options to patients and families, and address any concerns or questions they may have.
  • Insurance and Billing: Verify insurance coverage, obtain pre-certification and authorization as needed, and determine and collect required payments.

Requirements:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP) certifications are preferred.
  • Licenses: Valid Tennessee driver's license required.
