Visual Inspector Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented Visual Inspector with experience in Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) to join our Kit Packaging team. In this role, you will be responsible for the labeling and packaging of pharmaceuticals for worldwide distribution. The kit packaging operation is largely a manual operation, with some labeling operations performed by automated labeling machines. Kit Packaging personnel primarily perform a manual visual inspection of filled vials. You must follow SOPs and have the ability to follow manufacturing batch records. You must understand and comply with cGMP work environment standards and support a strong safety culture.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct visual inspection per established qualification criteria.
  • Have practical knowledge of subjects such as area clearances, product accountability, label control, product segregation and control, operator/check by, and other basic skills required to work in a pharmaceutical environment.
  • Understand and follow SOPs. Fill out standardized forms correctly. Instruct other team members on basic procedures.
  • Demonstrate fundamental writing skills, such as proper spelling, appropriate grammar, and punctuation.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and other internal groups. Demonstrate the ability to listen.
  • Exercise judgment to make routine decisions within established limits. Consult with team members or team leader as necessary.
  • Understand the role of a team member and how he/she impacts team objectives. Actively participate in team discussions and decision making. Support other team members.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of applicable industrial safety as outlined in the site safety manual; including areas such as material handling, chemical compatibility, equipment use, and inspection.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of basic math and science skills as they relate to a manufacturing and labeling environment.
