About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Pharmacy Technician to join our team at U.S. Urology Partners. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a critical role in supporting our urology practices by coordinating with our In-House Pharmacy to ensure seamless dispensing activities. Your primary responsibility will be to pre-certify pharmacy benefits that meet the needs of our patients and physicians.

Key Responsibilities
  • Document all precertification activities and procedures accurately and efficiently
  • Communicate financial requirements to patients and relevant parties
  • Coordinate authorizations with third-party providers to ensure timely medication delivery
  • Collaborate with physicians and staff to gather information on patient pharmaceutical needs
  • Work with physicians to obtain approval for medication dispensing
  • Maintain accurate inventory levels and assist in developing optimal par levels
  • Interface with billing to resolve coding and authorization discrepancies
  • Process all charges and payments in our practice management system and prepare daily bank deposits
  • Manage contact information and phone numbers for third-party communication across all offices
  • Ensure patient confidentiality, safety, and rights are upheld in all job duties
  • Respond to emergency situations with composure and competence
  • Communicate effectively with patients, visitors, physicians, and colleagues
  • Travel to other COUG locations as needed for business purposes
  • Assist with Support Services during coverage gaps
  • Maintain strict confidentiality
  • Perform other related duties as required
Requirements
  • Three (3) years of experience in a medical practice or pharmacy setting
  • Previous experience with precertification and prior authorizations with third-party providers
  • Pharmacy technician certification
Reasoning and Computer Skills

This role requires the ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations with limited standardization. You must be able to interpret a range of instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. To perform this job successfully, you should have thorough knowledge of computer information systems.

Physical Demands

This job requires frequent standing, walking, sitting, using hands to handle or feel objects, reaching with hands and arms, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling, and talking or hearing. You must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

Work Environment

This role operates in a professional office environment, utilizing standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.
