Professor of Psychology at Madera Community College

We are seeking a highly qualified Professor of Psychology to join our faculty at Madera Community College. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in psychology and the ability to teach a variety of courses, including introductory psychology, statistics, and research methods.

About the Role

This is a part-time faculty position that involves teaching students in a face-to-face, online, or hybrid format. As a Professor of Psychology, you will be responsible for developing and delivering engaging lesson plans, assessing student learning, and providing feedback to students.

Responsibilities
  • Teach part-time schedule of psychology courses as assigned
  • Develop and deliver engaging lesson plans using innovative and creative uses of technology
  • Evaluate student progress through tests, exams, written assignments, and oral responses
  • Maintain accurate classroom records and submit required reports in a timely manner
Requirements

To be considered for this position, you must have a Master's degree in psychology or a related field. You should also have experience working with diverse student populations and be committed to equity-minded practices. A valid California Community College Credential or equivalent education/experience is also required.

Desirable Qualifications

Experience incorporating elements of diversity, equity, and inclusion into instruction and advising is highly desirable. Familiarity with culturally responsive teaching practices and the ability to work effectively with students from diverse backgrounds is also essential.

Salary and Benefits

The estimated salary for this position is $75,000 - $100,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience. Benefits include sick leave accrual, health insurance, and retirement plan participation.
