Sterile Processing Technician

This position plays a critical role in providing sterile equipment and supplies for inpatient and outpatient surgical patient care. Key responsibilities include adhering to decontamination area policies, assembling instruments and equipment according to Central Sterilization policies, utilizing sterilization methods, monitoring chemical and physical sterilization cycle parameters, and documenting results correctly.

• High school graduate or equivalent
• Previous CSR experience required
• Certified CSR technicians must maintain 10 hours of continuing education annually
• Certification must be attained from either IAHCSMM or CBSPD

This position requires working in an Inpatient and Outpatient Surgical facility with patient population ranging from less than one year of age to ninety-nine plus years of age. Environmental conditions include possible exposure to anesthetics, radiation, and infectious disease entities.

• Prolonged standing and working for up to twelve hours a day
• Constantly required to push/pull objects up to 175 lbs
• Lift, position, and transport with assistance up to 250 lbs
• Overtime or late shifts as required by work load schedule
• Weekend/Holiday call rotation required
