LPN-Expanded II

As a Licensed Practical Nurse Expanded II, you will play a vital role in providing patient care under the direction of a professional registered nurse. Your primary responsibility will be to administer intravenous therapy according to state board of nursing rules and regulations. You will also be responsible for providing a caring relationship that facilitates health and healing, while preserving and protecting patient autonomy, dignity, and rights.
Key Responsibilities- Communicate and collaborate with professional registered nurses to ensure seamless patient care.
- Collect patient data to inform care decisions.
- Assist in planning patient care to meet individual needs.
- Implement patient care as directed by the registered nurse.
- Evaluate the plan of care and make adjustments as necessary.
- Administer medication as prescribed by a licensed healthcare professional.
- Administer intravenous medications according to state board of nursing rules and regulations.
- Perform intravenous therapy according to state board of nursing rules and regulations.
- Provide and reinforce teaching to individuals and groups of patients.
- Participate in activities designed to improve healthcare delivery.
- Participate in ongoing educational activities to enhance your skills and knowledge.
- Complete assigned goals and objectives.
To be successful in this role, you will need to meet the following requirements:
- Education: Meet the minimum IV therapy training requirements according to the state board of nursing in your state.
- Experience: 6 months of experience required, with successful completion of intravenous therapy training according to the state board of nursing.
- IV Certification: IV certification is required in some states, as defined by the state boards of nursing.
- AHA BLS: Current AHA BLS certification is required.
