We are seeking a qualified Math Adjunct Faculty to join our team at Dallas College. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching students effectively in assigned classes and maintaining office hours for student consultation.
Key Responsibilities- Teach students effectively in assigned classes
- Maintain office hours for student consultation
- Participate in the evaluation of the instructional process and use innovative strategies to continually improve learning
- Participate in development and support of their discipline by recommending books and materials, revising curricula, and recommending teaching assignments when appropriate
- Maintain accurate and complete course records
- Perform professional activities and assume professional responsibilities as agreed upon with the division dean, and work with colleagues to achieve shared goals and visions
- Participate in student advising and registration
- Utilize technology to facilitate learning and to access data, maintain records, generate reports, and communicate with others
- Meet professional assignments in accordance with the System's calendar and contractual obligations
- Comply with Districts board policy, state and federal policy, and the student code of conduct as appropriate
- Commit to college mission and goals through participating in planning division objectives and budget requests
- Serve on and attend college committees as assigned
- Participate in campus commencement exercise(s) as required and attend other required college meetings and activities
- Participate in his/her own performance appraisal
- May work with student clubs and/or organizations
- Promote the college in the community by participating in a variety of marketing activities
- Participate in professional development activities
- Complete required Dallas College Professional Development training hours per academic year
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Master's degree or higher and at least 18 graduate hours in the teaching discipline for credit courses
- For workforce education degree or certificate courses: a combination of academic preparation and work experience, including three years of direct or related work experience other than teaching
- For developmental courses: Bachelor's degree or higher in the specific teaching discipline and demonstrated competency (i.e. teaching experience, honors, graduate course work or other related accomplishments)
- Bilingual or multi language skills preferred
May be required to lift and move materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
