Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Industrial Hygiene Specialist/Environmental Health Professional to join our Safety and Industrial Hygiene practice in the Tri-County area. The successful candidate will perform indoor air quality assessments and surveys, abatement oversight for asbestos, lead-based paint, and other industrial hygiene projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct hazardous building material inspections for asbestos, lead-based paint, and PCBs.
  • Perform indoor air quality inspections, water intrusion investigations, and mold assessments.
  • Radon testing and sampling.
  • Project oversight and coordination with contractors.
  • Operate and maintain instruments, including sampling pumps, calibrators, and microscopes.
  • Collect samples, complete data sheets, chain of custody forms, and prepare samples for shipment to laboratory.
  • Maintain daily logs of activities related to project work.
  • Interact and communicate with clients, contractors, and regulatory agency representatives.
  • Read project specifications and drawings.
  • Prepare reports.
  • Travel throughout Florida and the Southeast Region of the US.
Requirements
  • 3-10 years of experience in the hazardous building materials, indoor air quality, and industrial hygiene industry.
  • Minimum of an Associate's Degree in Science or Engineering-related field.
  • Must be able to read project specifications and drawings.
  • Prior experience in various aspects of abatement projects is required.
  • The following certifications are required: Florida Mold Assessor, and AHERA Asbestos Building Inspector.
  • Florida Radon Measurement Technician license is strongly preferred.
  • Strong verbal communication skills.
  • Adaptability and flexibility to various work schedules and situations related to emergency response scenarios.
  • Intuitive and creative thinker.
  • Understanding of surroundings and reason for services provided.
  • Consultative demeanor and ability to work with customers/clients and offer solutions when needed.
  • Work as a team player.
  • Ability to carry and climb ladders and use hand and power tools.
  • Be able to wear a respirator, safety harness, and other safety equipment as needed.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and a reliable means of transportation.
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records check.
