About Netflix
Netflix stands as a premier global entertainment provider, boasting 278 million paid subscribers across more than 190 nations, indulging in a diverse array of TV shows, movies, and games in various genres and languages. Members enjoy the flexibility to play, pause, and resume their viewing experience anytime, anywhere, with the freedom to modify their plans as needed.
Position Overview
The Corporate FP&A team at Netflix is tasked with overseeing comprehensive financial planning, forecasting, and strategic evaluations across the organization. Financial planning is segmented across various teams aligned by function (e.g., a dedicated Content planning team focuses on Content, while a Marketing planning team concentrates on Marketing). The Corporate FP&A team collaborates closely with these teams and others to consolidate a thorough financial and operational outlook, playing a pivotal role in generating analyses and reports for senior leadership to gauge the company's performance at a global level.
We are seeking an Associate to collaborate with senior FP&A leadership, significantly contributing to the management and enhancement of the global planning process. This role is based at our corporate headquarters and reports directly to the Senior Manager, FP&A, Corporate.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in updating and maintaining the corporate-level forecast consolidation of the global Profit and Loss statement and cash flow, partnering with FP&A colleagues embedded in various functions to comprehend business forecasts and drivers.
- Refine and maintain the consolidated global cash flow forecast, including essential inputs such as capital expenditures, depreciation, and interest models.
- Support the Tax team in translating the global Profit and Loss statement into regional and entity-level forecasts for the effective tax rate and cash tax forecasts.
- Regularly prepare presentations for quarter-end earnings and Board meetings, summarizing data for Finance leadership to aid in decision-making.
- Update and enhance long-range planning models to assist in establishing budgets, capital allocations, and aligning the organization on key financial objectives.
- Provide support for ad hoc analyses and special projects, including foreign exchange and hedging, share repurchase/capital structure, and maintaining an internal valuation model.
- Contribute to modernizing and automating the consolidated forecasting process, generating insights on the company's financial and operational performance.
- 3-5 years of experience in Investment Banking, Equity Research, Consulting, or prior FP&A/Strategic Finance roles within a large organization.
- A strong understanding of financial statement analysis and the interrelationships between financial statements is essential.
- Extensive experience in conducting quantitative and financial analyses, along with developing actionable recommendations.
- In-depth knowledge of key accounting principles and experience in developing and automating financial forecast models and management reports on financial and operational performance.
- Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint is crucial.
- Experience with large data sets; knowledge of SQL and Tableau is a plus.
- Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy.
- Familiarity with financial planning tools such as TM1, Essbase, or Anaplan is advantageous.
