Job Summary

The Speech-Language Pathologist is responsible for the evaluation and treatment of patients at UofL Health's Frazier Rehab Institute. This role involves performing patient evaluations, developing and implementing treatment plans, delivering treatment services, and comprehensive discharge planning.

Care Provided

Frazier Rehab Institute provides personalized rehabilitation care to approximately 2,000 patients each year. Our services include care for patients with amputations, arthritis, brain injuries, burns and wounds, cancer, cerebral palsy, chronic pain, joint replacement, mechanical ventilation, musculoskeletal injuries, neurological disorders, Parkinson's disease, pediatrics, spasticity, spinal cord injuries, and stroke.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Evaluating patients to determine their communication and swallowing needs
  • Developing and implementing individualized treatment plans to address patient needs
  • Delivering treatment services, including speech and language therapy, to patients
  • Collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care
  • Providing education and support to patients and their families

Qualifications

To be considered for this role, applicants must have:

  • A Master's or Doctorate degree in Speech-Language Pathology
  • A Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) or be in the process of pursuing Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY-SLP)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA)
