We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Housekeeping-Environmental Service Aide to join our team at Hackensack Meridian Health. As a key member of our facilities team, you will play a critical role in maintaining a clean and safe environment for our patients, visitors, and staff.

Responsibilities

  • Clean and disinfect patient rooms, bathrooms, furniture, and other areas of the facility in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Deliver linen and remove trash from assigned areas, ensuring a clean and hygienic environment.
  • Sweep and mop patient rooms, maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and attention to detail.
  • Manage adequate stock of materials, supplies, and chemicals on cleaning carts and in janitor's closets, ensuring seamless operations.
  • Perform daily floor care procedures consistently, adhering to hospital policies and procedures.
  • Keep equipment clean and polished, including carts, tanks, and buckets, and empty and rinse them at the end of each shift.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED) is strongly preferred.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills are required, with the ability to interact with patients, visitors, and staff in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Must be able to lift, bend, and stand for long periods, with the ability to adapt to changing patient needs and priorities.
  • Flexibility to work various days, including alternating weekends and holidays, is essential.
  • A strong sense of accountability, a focus on teamwork, and a commitment to ongoing education are required to deliver the highest quality of care and service.
