Speech-Language Pathologist Job Description

Elderwood at Burlington is seeking a skilled Speech-Language Pathologist to join our team. As a Speech-Language Pathologist, you will play a vital role in ensuring the health and well-being of our residents by providing high-quality speech-language therapy services.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct in-depth evaluations and make written recommendations for therapy plans of care, as needed.
  • Coordinate audiometric screening tests and make referrals for further audiology evaluations or treatments, as necessary.
  • Initiate and maintain speech-language therapy plans of care, in accordance with physician orders.
  • Observe and respect the rights of residents, treating them with kindness and dignity.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of resident evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries.
  • Collaborate with other staff members to integrate speech-language treatment programs with goals and approaches of other disciplines.
  • Attend Resident Care Planning and Family/Resident Care Plan Review meetings for residents in speech-language treatment programs.
  • Submit statistical reports to the Business Office staff for Medicare billing payments and complete assessment forms as requested.
Qualifications:
  • M.A. or M.S. Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an approved school.
  • State license to practice as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
  • Clinical Competence Certification from the American Speech and Hearing Association, preferred.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Current, valid CPR/BLS credential.
  • Qualities of maturity, diplomacy, and ability to work well with others.
