Job Summary

AKS Engineering & Forestry is seeking a highly skilled Senior Transportation Engineer to join our team in Vancouver, Washington. As a key member of our public works team, you will play a crucial role in delivering transportation project delivery services to our clients throughout the Northwest region.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and support transportation project delivery services, including roadway design, construction, and maintenance.
  • Collaborate with our multidisciplinary team to deliver projects that meet client needs and expectations.
  • Develop and implement project plans, budgets, and schedules to ensure timely and within-budget delivery.
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to junior team members and clients.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and regulatory requirements to ensure compliance and excellence in project delivery.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related field.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • Minimum 7 years' experience in roadway engineering design, including urban and rural highways, intersection design, traffic management, and stormwater engineering.
  • Proven track record of delivering projects on time, within budget, and to client satisfaction.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and project management skills.
  • Proficiency in MicroStation, InRoads, OpenRoads, and/or AutoCAD/Civil 3D.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience working with public agencies, counties, or municipalities.
  • Experience coordinating survey, grading, drainage, utilities, environmental, geotechnical, and natural resources as part of transportation projects.
  • Familiarity with Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) Hydraulics Manual and US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Slopes V standards.
