Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Ophthalmology Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will assist with the preparation of the operating room for surgical procedures, maintain and care of instruments and equipment, and provide exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Knowledge of sterilization procedures, aseptic technique, and maintenance and care of instruments and equipment.
  • Assist with the preparation of the operating room for surgical procedures and effectively and efficiently assist the surgeon during the procedure.
  • Good visual acuity and ability to lift/transfer patients in excess of 100 pounds.
  • Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch and/or crawl, and reach, grasp, use fine finger movement and feel fine sensation to discern temperature, texture, size and shape.
  • Ability to speak and hear, and display a caring and responsive attitude and conduct all activities respecting patient, family and employee rights and expectations.
Qualifications:
  • High School education or equivalent experience.
  • 2-3 years of relevant work experience.
  • Prior Experience as an ORT/CST preferred but not required.
  • Successful completion of BCLS Course within 90 days of employment or documentation of current BCLS certification.
