The Master of Science in Nursing Faculty will work with the Director of Graduate Programs and existing MSN faculty to plan, develop, implement and teach classes in the MSN programs of study. The successful candidate will be an integral member of a dynamic faculty dedicated to preparing registered nurses to be successful at the highest level of professional nursing practice.
Key Responsibilities- Model high standards of professional behavior and communication.
- Provide academic and professional guidance to students in a timely fashion.
- Demonstrate proficiency in use of classroom, digital and online resources for teaching and learning.
- Plan, develop, and implement highly effective and engaging learning opportunities for nursing graduate students.
- Meet the diverse needs of Spalding University students by teaching classes in a variety of formats (including online, traditional and hybrid) as determined by School of Nursing faculty workload and student enrollment.
- Create and maintain course materials in compliance with regulatory and accrediting parties of interest for the School of Nursing.
- Measure and report student outcomes through existing School of Nursing Processes.
- Be an active participant on a minimum of two School of Nursing committees or councils.
- Represent the School of Nursing on appropriate University committees as needed or requested.
- Consistently demonstrate ethical decision making and advocacy for safe, high quality health care through membership in national professional nursing organizations.
- Actively participate in community service opportunities and include service learning expectations for students in appropriate course work.
- Take accountability for development of a personal professional development plan to be reviewed annually with program director.
- A Doctorate in Nursing Practice or PhD in Nursing or equivalent doctorate (EdD etc) required.
- Active unencumbered nursing license recognized in Kentucky is required.
- 5 years clinical nursing experience is required.
- 2 years of teaching experience is preferred.
- Demonstrated excellence in interpersonal communication.
- Demonstrated ability to work/lead in a team environment.
- Regular or daily contact with administration, faculty, staff, and students.
- Regular contact with the general public.
- Must be able to work with, listen to, appreciate, and collaborate and lead with diverse populations.
