Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer to join our team at Cambridge Health Alliance. As a key member of our Radiology department, you will perform a wide range of cardiovascular non-invasive tests, utilizing your expertise in 2-D imaging, color flow, spectral display, continuous and pulsed wave Doppler, and exercise/pharmacologic stress, harmonics, and contrast imaging.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform cardiovascular non-invasive tests according to established protocols
  • Recognize adequate vs inadequate data collection and prepare preliminary reports
  • Recognize abnormalities and life-threatening findings and report to physicians or nursing units as indicated
  • Document notification as part of Quality Improvement activities
  • Respond appropriately to situations requiring immediate action and judgment in patient care
  • Summon appropriate help and institute necessary measures in emergencies
  • Strictly obey isolation and infection control procedures and demonstrate knowledge of fire and safety procedures
  • Use computerized databases to generate reports and enter hospital charges on a timely basis
  • Act as a liaison with physicians and their staff to expedite procedures and results
  • Perform other cross-trained modalities as necessary

Requirements:

  • Graduation from an accredited diagnostic sonography program
  • BS preferred
  • Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) or registry eligible
  • BSL/CPR
  • One year experience in a hospital setting preferred
