Job Summary

Carmeuse is seeking a highly skilled Millwright Apprentice to join our team. As a Millwright Apprentice, you will be responsible for working on assigned projects with direct oversight by an assigned mentor while performing inspection, repair, installation, and servicing of stationary and mobile equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform inspection, repair, installation, and servicing of stationary and mobile equipment under the guidance of an OJT monitor/mentor.
  • Repair and maintain machinery and mechanical equipment such as motors, cables, pumps, conveyors, belts, fans, and air conditioners.
  • Examine mechanical equipment to diagnose issues and disassemble machinery to repair or replace broken parts.
  • Adjust functional parts of mechanical devices as necessary, including cleaning and lubrication of parts.
  • Order replacement parts and inspect completed repairs.
  • Requisition new parts and equipment as needed.
Requirements
  • High School Graduate or GED equivalency.
  • Must complete and successfully pass basic skills aptitude testing.
  • Must participate and complete the company-provided 4-year Penn Foster Apprenticeship Program.
  • Upon contingent offer of employment, must complete and successfully pass all pre-employment requirements (background check, physical, and drug screen).
  • Basic technical and mechanical knowledge.
  • Basic computer and MS Office suite software knowledge.
  • Demonstrable teamwork and maturity with a strong work ethic.
  • Fluency in spoken and written English.
