Job Description:

As a Payroll Analyst II at Compunnel, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of payroll processing. Your responsibilities will include:

Key Responsibilities:
  • Processing adjustment files weekly and collaborating with the team to confirm payrolls according to the processing schedule and payroll checklist.
  • Ensuring proper year-end W2 reporting by processing various types of imputed income, such as relocation, stock options, and personal use of company cars.
  • Responding to payroll and payroll system inquiries, serving as a main point of contact for payroll and HR, and interacting with key stakeholders and partners.
  • Assisting with year-end bonus payments, executive comp payouts, and other year-end activities impacting employees.
  • Reconciling tax payments and filings completed by ADP as needed, utilizing analytical skills to identify errors in reconciliation.
  • Updating the Hourly and Salary Processing Procedures as needed to accurately reflect changes in the processes, ensuring compliance with Sarbanes Oxley and internal audit requirements, and creating greater efficiency and accuracy in the payroll process.
  • Collaborating with the Shared Service Center in Monterrey to ensure all team members are aligned with payroll processing activities.
  • Cross-training within the department to learn all aspects of payroll, including tax, garnishments, escheatment's, and creating reports to ensure adequate backup for all team members.
  • Assisting in the achievement of Client goals and objectives.
Requirements:
  • Degree in a business-related discipline (Business, Accounting, Finance, HR, etc.) or a minimum of 4 to 7 years in Payroll/Tax related positions.
  • HS diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Basic knowledge of payroll tax and garnishment processing.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment with little supervision.
  • Customer-focused with an emphasis on quality, detail, and accuracy.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Excellent English communication skills - Written, verbal, and interpersonal.
  • Intermediate level skill in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with ADP Globalview or SAP payroll.
