Auburn University is seeking a highly skilled Raptor Care Specialist to join their team at the renowned Auburn University Raptor Center (AURC). TES, a unit of the Auburn University Department of Human Resources, provides qualified and dedicated temporary employees to meet the staffing needs of the university. Temporary employees are hired for a variety of reasons, including assistance in place of regular employees, additional support during peak workloads, and assistance with special projects.

The Raptor Care Specialist will be responsible for providing medical care for raptors under the direction of the veterinary staff, assisting in the training and supervision of volunteers, and providing husbandry and care for all rehabilitation sections, including cleaning, feeding, and treatments. The ideal candidate will possess a high school diploma or equivalent and have a strong passion for animal care and rehabilitation.

The salary for this position is $11.00 per hour, with the opportunity to work Monday through Friday and one weekend day, with a minimum of 3 days a week and one weekend day, holidays when needed. Essential Functions:

  • Provide and assist with medical care for raptors under the direction of the veterinary staff.
  • Assist in the training, directions, and supervision of volunteers for the rehabilitation unit of AURC.
  • Provide husbandry and care for all rehabilitation sections, including cleaning, feeding, and treatments of raptors under the direction of veterinary/rehabilitation staff.
  • Assist with upkeep of AURC facilities, including basic maintenance and repairs.

Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent.
