Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Orthopedic Technician to join our team at Christus Health. As an Orthopedic Technician, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support to our orthopedic team.
Key Responsibilities:
• Apply and remove casts, splints, and dressings as ordered by the physician.
• Assist with procedures, such as removing staples, sutures, and external fixation devices.
• Collect and prepare specimens for processing as directed by the physician.
• Assist with patient education and instruction on cast, splint, and dressing care.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment by sterilizing instruments and equipment.
• Transport and transfer patients as needed.
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA guidelines.
Requirements:
A. Education/Skills
• High School diploma or equivalent.
B. Experience
• Six months of prior medical experience preferred.
C. Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications
• AHA BLS certification within 2 weeks of employment.
