Mass Electric Construction Company is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Substation Superintendent to join our team. As a key member of our Field Supervision department, you will play a critical role in the success of our Transmission and Substation projects.
Responsibilities:- Mentor and develop junior superintendents to ensure their growth and success in their roles.
- Review and approve labor rates for foremen, journeymen, and laborers to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Manage contract administration, including communication with subcontractors and field management teams.
- Develop and implement a program to maintain positive client relationships, including staff on-site interactions.
- Initiate and attend regular meetings with clients to resolve issues and plan for project completion.
- Oversee and approve monthly job cost updates and quarterly cash flow projections.
- Review, approve, and negotiate change orders to ensure project profitability.
- Develop and implement a plan for project completion and turnover, ensuring timely and efficient handovers.
- Maintain daily diaries for record-keeping purposes and ensure timely completion of performance evaluations for direct reports.
- Recommend organizational, policy, and procedural changes as necessary to improve team performance and efficiency.
- 8+ years of construction experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership or superintendent role on Transmission and Substation projects.
- Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision, with excellent organizational, administrative, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to quickly learn and understand various processes, including Kiewit's policies, procedures, and software programs.
- Strong experience in leadership, safety, negotiations, planning, and contract administration.
This role requires regular, reliable attendance and the ability to work productively and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will be required to work overtime and weekends as needed, and may be required to travel to various project locations.
