About the Role
ENGIE North America Inc. is seeking a Health and Safety Intern to support our Site Safety Specialist on the campus of University of Iowa. Our company supplies the university and hospital with essential services, including steam, power, water, and chilled water.
The successful candidate will assist in all aspects of ENGIE's Health & Safety Program, including incident investigation, monthly indicator reporting, reviewing and disposing of safety Good Catch reports, hazard identification, leadership safety walks, employee training, and capital improvement project risk assessment and consultation.
- Demonstrate proper use of personal protective equipment and participate in or shadow activities to facilitate at least one safety improvement project aimed at closing the risk gap or cultivating a positive safety culture
- Implement action items from leadership safety walks and contribute to ongoing safety enhancements when possible
Your Responsibilities
- Pursuing a bachelor's degree in business administration, engineering, occupational & environmental health, or a related field
- A proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project
What We Offer
- This role is eligible for our hybrid work policy
- Interns must be enrolled students in good standing at the commencement of the intern semester
- Must be willing and able to comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies
Compensation Details
Hourly Range: $21.00 - $27.00 USD annually
This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate.
ENGIE complies with all federal, state, and local minimum wage laws. Actual salary offered may vary depending on geography, experience, education, internal pay alignment, or other bona fide factors.
