Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Vocational Specialist to join our team. As a Vocational Specialist, you will be responsible for providing vocational counseling and guidance to individuals with disabilities or other barriers to employment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct vocational assessments to determine clients' strengths, interests, and skills
  • Develop individualized vocational plans for clients based on their assessment results
  • Provide vocational counseling and guidance to clients to help them overcome barriers to employment
  • Assist clients with job search strategies, resume writing, and interview preparation
  • Collaborate with employers to identify job opportunities and job accommodations for clients
  • Monitor clients' progress and adjust vocational plans as needed
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records and documentation
Additional Responsibilities
  • Program Implementation: Lead the creation and implementation of a new vocational program that is aligned with participants' goals and DODD regulations.
  • Participant Intake & Goal Setting: Work closely with participants to intake new clients and develop individualized vocational plans based on their unique goals and interests.
  • Community Outreach & Partnerships: Build and maintain relationships with county boards, local businesses, and other community organizations to create job opportunities for participants.
  • Compliance & Quality Control: Ensure all services comply with DODD regulations, and stay updated on changes in vocational service rules.
  • Recruitment & Training: As the program grows, recruit and train additional staff to support and expand the vocational program.
Requirements
  • Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Passion for helping individuals with developmental disabilities achieve their vocational goals.
  • Ability to work flexible hours (up to 20 hours per week, Monday-Friday, 9 AM – 2 PM).
