About the Role

We're seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our Advanced Performance Materials team. As a Technical Service and Application Development Scientist, you'll provide technical support to customers, collaborate with global teams, and develop sustainable solutions. Your expertise will help us grow our melt-processable Fluoropolymers business, serving industries such as electronics, communications, and medical devices.

Responsibilities
  • Provide technical support to customers, including travel to key customers, troubleshooting, and introducing new products.
  • Collaborate with global teams to exchange experiences, share results, and develop new product prototypes or processes.
  • Work with vendors to procure necessary materials and develop laboratory equipment.
  • Assist in product/customer complaint investigations and document results.
  • Adhere to site safety standards and suggest improvements to work processes.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in polymer, chemical, mechanical, or materials engineering/science.
  • Strong interpersonal and written/oral communication skills with a customer-focused attitude.
  • Fluency in English (professional writing and speaking).
  • Ability to travel to customer sites (up to 30%).
  • Demonstrated ability to apply technical knowledge to diagnose, troubleshoot, and solve problems.
  • Ability to plan, prioritize, and manage multiple, complex projects in a safe manner.
  • Ability to work in a team environment with high initiative and self-motivation.
  • At least two years of experience working with melt flowable materials, preferably in creating coated communication wires or tubing.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge and experience of extrusion processes utilizing fluoropolymers.
  • Working knowledge of fluoropolymer fundamentals.
