Job Title: Interventional Radiology Nurse

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Interventional Radiology Nurse to join our team at The George Washington University Hospital. As an IR Nurse, you will provide high-quality nursing care to patients undergoing interventional radiology and special procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients undergoing interventional radiology and special procedures.
  • Monitor patient conditions before, during, and after procedures.
  • Assist physicians during interventional radiology procedures, ensuring sterile techniques and patient safety.
  • Administer medications and contrast agents as required.
  • Educate patients and their families about procedures, potential risks, and post-procedure care.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed patient records.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of patient care plans.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure continuity of care.
Qualifications:
  • Current RN license in the state of Washington, D.C., or DC eligible.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
  • At least 1 year of nursing experience in interventional radiology, special procedures, ICU or a related field.
  • BLS and ACLS certification required.
  • Strong critical thinking, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
