As a Medical Surgical Float Pool Registered Nurse, your responsibilities will include conducting patient assessments, formulating care plans, and implementing and evaluating care strategies.
As part of a collaborative interdisciplinary care team, you will ensure the safe and effective delivery of patient care.
- Develop and adjust care plans based on patient responses to treatment, regularly assessing their effectiveness.
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to create, evaluate, and modify care plans to meet patient needs and objectives.
- Administer medications and perform treatments in accordance with hospital protocols.
- Appropriately delegate tasks to non-licensed staff following established standards of practice.
- Provide pre- and post-operative care to patients.
- Offer educational resources to patients and their families regarding care and treatment options.
- Assist in coordinating discharge plans in partnership with the care team.
Qualifications Required:
Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years of recent clinical nursing experience as a Registered Nurse (RN).
- Associate's degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited program.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Current Texas Registered Nurse (RN) license or Compact Registered Nursing License (Texas license must be obtained within 90 days of hire).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification as per St. David's Healthcare policy.
- NIHSS certification required as per St. David's Healthcare policy.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred.
