The Electrical Transmission Operations Supervisor is accountable for overseeing field activities on designated projects to ensure safe, timely, and profitable execution.
Key Responsibilities:- Plan, organize, and supervise specific segments of construction work within a designated area of a project.
- Manage construction schedules for T&D-related tasks performed by subcontractors to ensure adherence to contractual obligations.
- Maintain job progress continuity and optimize efficiencies in the assigned area.
- Oversee project work activities, including high voltage transmission lines, structures, drilled piers, and substation components.
- Ensure overall supervision of construction efforts, focusing on safety, productivity, material usage, and compliance with engineering and contractual standards.
- Ensure subcontractor compliance with contractual obligations related to T&D construction activities.
- Foster effective relationships with clients and subcontractors, collaborating with various representatives.
- Work alongside project management to develop and implement project procedures and standards.
- Authorize purchase requisitions and field design change requests under the guidance of the Construction Manager and Project Manager.
- Oversee project safety, reviewing and auditing site-specific safety documentation regularly.
- Document construction progress through daily field reports and photographs.
- Evaluate upcoming work activities and identify potential concerns using subcontractors' reports.
- Develop marked-up and as-built drawings for record-keeping and assist with RFIs.
- Direct subcontractors to comply with project schedules and track progress based on installed quantities and work hours.
- Verify material deliveries for compliance with specifications and ensure proper storage and maintenance.
- Coordinate with QA/QC Managers to confirm that all welders on-site are qualified.
- Witness equipment settings and alignments, ensuring compliance with project specifications.
- Conduct walk-downs of systems before, during, and after hydrostatic testing to ensure compliance.
- Create punch lists for items that are out of compliance or incomplete.
- Ensure the most current drawing revisions are utilized in the field.
- Understand and execute project scope and manage field change orders effectively.
- Oversee craft supervision and project staffing as necessary.
- Manage project site material and tool inventory.
- Supervise daily construction activities in accordance with established policies and procedures.
- Direct daily field activities, ensuring compliance with codes and specifications.
- Interpret isometric drawings, structural drawings, and P&IDs.
- Perform additional duties as assigned and comply with all policies and standards.
- Bachelor's Degree with 7 years of construction management or craft supervision experience in T&D projects; or
- Associate Degree with 9 years of relevant experience; or
- High School Diploma/GED with 11 years of relevant experience.
- Strong communication and leadership skills, along with a solid safety background.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Must meet company driving requirements.
